Smart Cities & Urban Development Award recognises projects that demonstrate innovation, sustainability, and citizen-centric design. Winning entries demonstrate effective use of technology to improve urban living and sustainability. Judges value solutions that enhance urban efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and promote inclusivity. Successful projects prioritise citizen engagement, accessibility, and equitable distribution of benefits to ensure the well-being and prosperity of residents.
Judges are looking for:
- What urban challenge was addressed?
- How did technology improve city living or services?
- What measurable impact was achieved (traffic, environment, safety)?
- How integrated is the solution across systems?
- Can it be replicated in other cities?
Judges reward clear evidence, not claims. Use data, examples and results wherever possible.
Open to any government-funded service across the island of Ireland.
