Dr Tony Shannon is Head of Digital Services at Ireland’s Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO), where he works on the delivery of Ireland’s digital government strategy and the shared digital infrastructure underpinning public services.

A former emergency medicine doctor, Tony has spent more than 20 years working on complex change and digital transformation across healthcare, local government and central government. His work includes Government as a Platform, life-events services, the Government Digital Wallet, MyGovID and shared digital services across the public sector.

Tony brings a strong focus on how better digital infrastructure, combined with people-centred design and smarter ways of working, can help government deliver simpler, more joined-up services.
